Reform overview

The Office of the Independent Implementation Supervisor (OIIS) provides biannual reports to the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, and the Minister for Police and Community Safety for release that consider the progress and adequacy of the Queensland Government Response to the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce recommendations.

From Hear Her Voice Report One, 43 of the 89 recommendations have been due to be completed to date. From Hear Her Voice Report Two, 44 of the 188 recommendations have been due to be completed to date. From A Call for Change, 34 of the 78 recommendations have been due to be completed to date.

Across the three progress reports, the Independent Implementation Supervisor (IIS) has now assessed a total of 121 recommendations, being the recommendations that were due to be completed by 31 March 2024. These consisted of 43 recommendations from Hear her voice – Report One – Addressing coercive control and domestic and family violence in Queensland, 44 recommendations from Hear her voice – Report Two – Women and girls' experiences across the criminal justice system and 34 recommendations from report A Call for Change: Commission of Inquiry into Queensland Police Service responses to domestic and family violence.

Across the 121 recommendations due for delivery by 31 March 2024 and assessed to date, 96 have now been completed. Of these, 89 are considered fulfilled and closed and 7 are fulfilled but remain open for further monitoring by the IIS.
